We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Manager to join Energicity DBA Starlight Energy Liberia Limited. This position will help support the growth of our market development, operations, engineering, construction, and support teams to bring our electrification services to more than 100,000 customers in several African countries over the next 5 years. JOB TITLE: Maintenance Manager
LOCATION: Gbarpolu County, Liberia
JOB SUMMARY: This role involves overseeing the maintenance operations of our solar microgrid portfolio, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians, work closely with EPC teams, vendors, and customers, and implement strategic maintenance plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical engineering, renewable and conventional energy technologies, or solar photovoltaic power systems, along with proven leadership and communication skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring efficient resolution of maintenance requests and scheduled activities.
- Inspections and Assessments: Organise and oversee regular inspections of solar microgrid systems and subcomponents to identify maintenance needs and potential risks.
- Procurement and Coordination: Collaborate with the procurement team, vendors, and suppliers to procure spare parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance activities.
- Strategic Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement strategic maintenance plans to optimise the performance and longevity of solar microgrid systems.
- Customer Support: Prioritise and address customer inquiries, coordinating technical support and providing guidance on maintenance issues.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities through the Computerised Maintenance Management System/Maintenance ticketing system.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance indicators, analyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaboration and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to troubleshoot complex technical problems and recommend solutions.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA, RoHS, etc.), best practices and industry standards during maintenance operations.
- Team Development: Own, plan, and conduct training for the maintenance team to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements and industry best practices in solar power systems and maintenance techniques
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification required: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field. Relevant technical certification with extensive experience will be considered.
Experience: Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting power systems, preferably in the solar microgrid context.
Technical Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills, advanced problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, solar components, and power electronics.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to safety and relevant regulations.
- Flexibility to travel to various project sites as required.
