Energicity Corp is looking for a driven, organized, and inventive Product Manager to join our Innovation Team. You will own the full product lifecycle, from early-stage discovery through to launch, across both hardware and software products, with a strong emphasis on AI integrations and AI-native products. You will work closely with our operations, engineering, and market development teams to shape high-impact technology products that improve our ability to provide energy to rural customers across West Africa. 

Energicity Corp is a leading renewable energy services business that provides sustainable, reliable electricity to rural communities without grid access. We design, construct, and operate solar minigrids across West Africa. We deliver high-quality electricity services that enable communities to thrive through: Better health services through access to more modern healthcare equipment, vaccines, and light for night activities, notable improvements in primary and secondary education, and income-generating opportunities for rural entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers. 

Energicity Corp’s Innovation Team proudly designs, builds, and implements all of our metering technology and companion customer and performance management software in-house. Meters are built in our Freetown, Sierra Leone meter building studio. We are excited to welcome an excellent Product Manager to drive our upcoming high-impact technology rollout.

JOB TITLE: Innovation Product Manager, Energicity Corp

LOCATION: Ideally based in Benin, Sierra Leone, or Liberia; will consider remote across West Africa.        

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the end-to-end product roadmap for hardware and software initiatives, aligning cross-functional teams around a clear vision and measurable milestones.
  • Lead discovery and definition phases: conduct user research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews to uncover opportunities and validate product direction.
  • Define and ship AI-native product features, working directly with engineers to translate model capabilities into delightful user experiences.
  • Collaborate with engineers on product specifications, prototype reviews, and field readiness — understanding the specific constraints and rhythms of physical product development.
  • Support go-to-market strategy, including pricing, positioning, launch planning, and post-launch iteration.
  • Monitor product performance through data, user feedback, and market signals; act decisively on what you learn.
  • Use project management and product tooling (Jira, Asana, or equivalent) to keep teams aligned, unblocked, and shipping.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently across all levels of the organization, including our senior management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:  EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualification required: 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering high-quality hardware and software products to market.

  • Experience in product management: prototyping cycles, manufacturing constraints, supply chain considerations, and the interplay between hardware and software.
  • Hands-on experience designing or launching AI-native products where intelligence is core to the user value proposition.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) at a professional level.
  • Proficiency with modern product and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills: comfort with data, A/B testing, and defining success metrics.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills

Core Compentencie::

  • French language proficiency (professional level), enabling you to engage with our French-speaking team members.
  • Knowledge of or passion for the renewable energy industry, familiarity with solar, battery storage, grid infrastructure, or adjacent domains.
  • Experience working in a startup environment where speed and ambiguity are constants.
  • Background in technical disciplines (engineering, computer science) that helps you partner effectively with hardware and software engineers.
  • Experience scaling hardware and software products across new markets.
  • Experience in product management of AI server hardware projects.
